OREANDA-NEWS. To assess the formed immunity in volunteers participating in the study of the EpiVacCorona coronavirus vaccine, test systems with high sensitivity will be used to give an objective assessment, follows from the memo for volunteers participating in post-registration clinical trials of the drug.

Experts say that in order to assess the level of immunity formed after the introduction of the vaccine, they use ELISA test systems. They must be highly sensitive in detecting antibodies to certain regions of the coronavirus protein.

Conventional test systems for the determination of antibodies will not be able to give an objective assessment, because they detect all antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 formed in the body, the memo notes.

Earlier it was reported that 672 volunteers over 18 years old and 96 volunteers over 60 years old were vaccinated as part of post-registration trials of the EpiVacCorona vaccine, everyone is doing well, no undesirable consequences have been identified.

Doctors remind of special rules for those who want to be vaccinated with the Russian coronavirus vaccine. Thus, volunteers who test the EpiVacCorona vaccine, within 42 days, must refuse to visit public places, strictly observe the mask regime and limit the consumption of alcohol and drugs that suppress the immune system, follows from the memo for volunteers participating in post-registration clinical trials of the vaccine.
