OREANDA-NEWS  Experts of the Russian Security Council (SB) discussed the fight against the incitement of Russophobia in the foreign media space, the press service of the Security Council staff reported on Wednesday.

They noted that at a meeting of the section on the problems of neutralizing internal threats to national security of the Scientific Council under the Security Council of the Russian Federation, "strengthening anti-Russian propaganda and whipping up Russophobic sentiments in the external segment of the media space" was discussed.

The experts examined in detail the specifics of the West's dissemination of negative information about Russia and its citizens through traditional media, social networks and messengers. They also analyzed the prosecution for the dissemination of deliberately false information about the work of Russian public authorities and officials under the guise of reliable reports.

Following the meeting, the experts made recommendations on further countering anti-Russian propaganda, proposed measures to more effectively repel information attacks from unfriendly countries, including using criminal law and criminological means.
