OREANDA-NEWS The US Ambassador to Moscow, Lynn Tracy, during contacts with representatives of the Russian authorities on Sunday conveyed signals about Washington's non-involvement in the events around the Wagner PMCs and the position of the United States that what happened is an internal matter of Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"When the United States Ambassador Tracy communicated with Russian representatives yesterday, she transmitted signals - these signals are probably not secret - they consisted, first of all, in the fact that the United States had nothing to do with it, that the United States hoped that nuclear weapons would be in order, that American diplomats would not be harmed," he said. Lavrov in an interview with RT on Monday.

"It was particularly emphasized that the United States proceeds from the fact that everything that is happening is an internal matter of the Russian Federation," he added.

Lavrov also said that he had held talks with a number of foreign colleagues over the past few days, but did not disclose their names at their request.

"I also held several telephone conversations on the initiative of my foreign colleagues, many of them expressed the same thoughts - solidarity, confidence that we will not allow any attempts to undermine the unity of the state, undermine the success of a special military operation," the minister said.

According to the Russian Foreign Minister, his interlocutors "asked not to talk about their calls publicly, so we try not to do this, we respect their request."

Speaking about the role of Minsk in resolving the situation, Lavrov recalled that last Saturday the Presidents of the Russian Federation and Belarus, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, had a telephone conversation. During this conversation, the Minister noted, the parties decided "to try to resolve this situation peacefully, to avoid a lot of bloodshed, which would inevitably happen if the rebel detachments continued to move towards Moscow."

"This proposal was supported by President Putin, and you know the result," Lavrov said.

At the same time, answering the question of whether the Russian side has evidence that neither Ukrainian nor Western intelligence services are involved in the events of June 24, the minister noted that "he works in an agency that does not collect evidence of illegal actions being committed." "But we have such structures, and, I assure you, they already understand this," Lavrov said.

On June 23-24, events involving the Wagner PMCs took place in Russia, which were qualified by the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation as an attempt of armed rebellion.
