OREANDA-NEWS Vladimir Putin signed new decrees on citizenship, which give the right to obtain a Russian passport on preferential terms to foreign contractors and some Ukrainians. They will be able to apply for citizenship without permanent residence in Russia, as well as without knowledge of the language, history and legislation. Deputy Alexander Khinshtein said that the decree would solve the problem of extraditing special operation veterans abroad, who face punishment for "mercenary activities".

As follows from the document, foreigners who were dismissed from military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation during their military service for health reasons, upon reaching the age limit, upon expiration of the contract, as well as in connection with the termination of martial law will also be able to apply for Russian citizenship.

Relatives of these categories of foreign citizens will also have the right to obtain Russian citizenship.

The decree defines the list of documents that must be submitted together with the application for citizenship. So, the applicant will need to attach his passport, a contract for service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation concluded for a period of at least one year, as well as a certificate of a change of name or surname (if any). In addition, you will need to undergo mandatory fingerprint registration.

Relatives of foreigners who have signed a contract with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, when submitting an application, must provide medical certificates confirming the absence of consumption of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances and the presence of infectious diseases dangerous to others. In addition, they will need to attach a certificate of absence of HIV infection.

A sample of a seven-page application for admission to Russian citizenship of foreigners serving in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is also published in the annex to the signed decree.
