OREANDA-NEWS About 150 cargo ships - tankers, grain carriers, container ships, tugs, bulk carriers and barges - are planned to be built in Russia by 2027, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said.

"Another area on which special emphasis is placed in the conditions of sanctions is cargo ships of various purposes and deadweight. Within the framework of the preferential leasing project, it is planned to build about 150 tankers, grain carriers, container ships, barges, tugs and bulk carriers, including Arctic class, by 2027," Manturov said, speaking at the government hour in the Federation Council.

"This will contribute to the reorientation of export flows through the waters of the Azov, Black, Baltic, White and Caspian Seas," he added.
