OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed two militant bases in the Syrian province of Homs, said deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, Major General Yuri Popov.

According to him, over the past day in the Idlib de-escalation zone, two attacks on government troops by the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group (banned in the Russian Federation) in Idlib province were recorded.

"As a result of shelling from a large-caliber machine gun by terrorists from the Fatira area of the positions of the Syrian government forces in the area of the settlement of Hazarin in Idlib province, one Syrian serviceman was wounded," Popov said.

He also said that during the day, the US-led coalition recorded four cases of violations of Deconfliction Protocols dated December 9, 2019, related to flights of unmanned aerial vehicles that were not coordinated with the Russian side.

In addition, Popov said, eight violations of Syrian airspace by four pairs of F-15 fighter jets were recorded in the Al-Tanf area during the day.

By such actions, the coalition creates dangerous prerequisites for aviation incidents and exacerbates the situation in Syrian airspace, the deputy head of the Central Air Force stressed.
