OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Turkey will take place in February, he is preparing, his assistant for international Affairs Yuri Ushakov told reporters.

"Yes, a visit is being prepared," Ushakov said, answering in the affirmative to a clarifying question whether this visit will take place in February.

Earlier, a diplomatic source in Ankara told RIA Novosti that President Putin's visit to Turkey may take place, tentatively, in February, but the situation will depend on the schedule of the leaders of Turkey and Russia.

Putin previously announced that he plans to meet with his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan at the beginning of the year, before that the leaders could not meet due to the schedule of the Turkish president. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, previously stated that the Kremlin would promptly inform about the dates of the meeting between the two presidents.
