OREANDA-NEWS  The IL-76 aircraft of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations delivered humanitarian aid to Egypt for the Gaza Strip. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in its Telegram channel.

On December 20, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia hopes that the UN Security Council (UNSC) will be able to respond to the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip in the near future.

Before that, CNN reported that the Israeli authorities were considering the possibility of building a "humanitarian complex" in the north of the Gaza Strip, intended for the Palestinian civilian population.

On December 19, Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog announced that the country was ready for another humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip to free the remaining hostages.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Egypt announced the need for an early ceasefire in Gaza.
