OREANDA-NEWS The tourist flow from China to Moscow in the first quarter of 2023 increased fivefold compared to the same period in 2022. The fact that the Chinese have flocked to the Russian capital en masse, said the first deputy chief of staff of the mayor and government of Moscow, chairman of the Committee on Tourism of the city Evgeny Kozlov, his comment leads RIA Novosti.

According to Kozlov, over 25 thousand Chinese citizens visited the Russian capital during this period. At the same time, 30 percent of them came to Moscow for tourism or for private purposes, and more than 40 percent of the guests were on business trips. "We are always happy to welcome Chinese tourists to Moscow, given that our city is one of the most popular destinations for travelers from this country," Kozlov added.

Earlier in June, it became known that visa-free group tourist trips between Russia and China may begin again in July. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov at the Russian Tourism Forum "Travel!".
