OREANDA-NEWS  The Supreme Court of Russia has submitted three bills on the humanization of justice to the State Duma. This was announced by the chairman of the country's highest court, Vyacheslav Lebedev, at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, according to the Kremlin's website.

Among the initiatives, it is proposed not to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for women with young children for committing minor crimes. It is also proposed not to arrest defendants in criminal cases of nonviolent crimes of moderate severity.

In addition to these proposals, amendments have been developed concerning the humanization of law enforcement practice on crimes in the field of entrepreneurial activity.

In addition, the Supreme Court proposes to immediately release from prison citizens who are recognized as sick. There is now a certain formal procedure in place to enforce the court's decision.

Lebedev recalled that three draft laws were developed in accordance with the instructions of the President on the humanization of justice.

Putin called the introduction of digital technologies into Russian justice a success. In 2023, nine million documents were submitted electronically to the Russian courts, which indicates the successful development of the electronic form of work with citizens.
