OREANDA-NEWS. The United States will not allow the deployment of Iranian missiles in Venezuela. This was declared by the US Special Representative for Iran and Venezuela, Elliot Abrams.

According to the politician, if Caracas and Tehran try to implement such a plan, the USA will try to intercept the missiles in transit. If this does not work out and the ammunition arrives in Venezuela, they will be dealt with on the territory of the Bolivarian Republic.

It is unacceptable to deploy Iranian missiles, capable of reaching the United States, in Venezuela, Abrams explained, adding that he hopes that the next administration will have the same view.

At the same time, the US Space Department representative did not provide any specific data on the prospects for the deployment of Iranian missiles in Venezuela. Abrams commented on this topic in response to a question about the expiration of the United Nations’ arms embargo against Iran.
