OREANDA-NEWS By the end of 2023, the average cost of a foreign car with mileage increased in Russia by 31 percent, to 2.7 million rubles, follows from the results of the Major Auto study, which Izvestia reviewed.

In particular, the share of sales of such sharply more expensive cars on credit increased in the past year, the materials say. It is noted that if in 2019, when on average a foreign used car cost Russians about 0.9 million rubles, the most popular cars on the market were five- to eight-year-olds, now preferences have shifted towards three- to five-year-old models.

According to David Pavlov, head of the department for the sale of used cars Major Auto, in 2023 the car fleet in the country "began to get younger" partly due to attempts by Russians to "replace" a car with a small mileage with a new car due to an increase in cost."

Earlier it became known that Renault, Volkswagen, Skoda, as well as Chinese Chery and Geely got into the top 5 budget foreign cars with mileage in Russia in 2023.
