OREANDA-NEWS. Ford Sollers Company extends the application of localized components for cars Ford, produced in Russia. Within the new project the delivery of stamped parts for Ford Focus is now being implemented, in addition to the assembly line, also to the central warehouse of spare parts for the delivery to Russian dealers of Ford, informed the press service of the company.

As noted, this project permits to expand the loading capacity of domestic suppliers and capacities of Ford Sollers, to reduce the dependence of the price of body parts from currency fluctuations and to cut delivery times of parts. Previously, the company has imported these body parts from Europe.

The entire chain of production of body parts is localized in Russia, in their manufacture it is used mill from Russian steel. Stampings details are received from the Russian supplier to the plant Ford Sollers in Vsevolozhsk, where, after the degreasing, phosphating, applying the cataphoretic primer and sealant and bake in the oven, the finished products are quality checked before being sent to the central spare parts warehouse, from where it is carried out their supply to dealerships Ford. To start the project it was designed and manufactured additional equipment of paint shop of Vsevolozhsk plant Ford Sollers.

In the first wave of localized spare parts there were included the bonnets, doors and trunk lids for the model Ford Focus, the production of which is carried out at Ford Sollers plant in Vsevolozhsk. In the future, the list of produced in Russia bodywork parts and the list of models covered by the project will be expanded.

Currently it is being prepared the test running of the project for the production of car body parts localized in the framework of the machine-building cluster of Tatarstan and Ford Sollers plant in Naberezhnye Chelny. Within the project it is planned to expand the production assortment of body parts for models Ford EcoSport and Ford Fiesta.

As previously reported "AUTOSTAT" by the results of 2016 the company Ford Sollers increased sales in Russia up to 42,528 cars by 10%. The most popular model of Ford in Russia is still Ford Focus. In the last year the sales of best-selling Focus increased by 8%, despite the downward trend in the C-segment of the Russian automotive market, and they were 11973 cars.
