OREANDA-NEWS. October 21, 2009. Head of Karelia Sergey Katanandov has met the new director of Petrovsky distillery Vladimir Lastovka. Matters at the meeting concerned resumption of work of this large Petrozavodsk enterprise.

For a long time Petrovsky distillery was idle. Recently the factory was included in the large Russian company of Rosspirtprom Inc. founded this year and 100% state-owned. In the coming months the factory will resume work.

According to Vladimir Lastovka, repairs at the factory come to the end, modern Italian line is established that will allow to make 250 thousand decalitres of production a month. Next year it is planned to install the second line of this kind. The distillery never produced such volumes with old equipment.

Vladimir Lastovka has rated professionalism of the factory workers very high. The new director having taken the office in June, has told that the majority of them would be hired again at the reconstructed enterprise and would start working on the high-efficiency modern equipment.

It was decided to make Petrovsky distillery one of the country's key factories of Rosspirtprom Inc. Therefore, the renovated enterprise will produce alcoholic drinks of federal brands. However, a number of Karelian brands that for many years have been in buyer demand will be kept. In particular, the factory plans to renew production of the famous balsam Karelsky.
