OREANDA-NEWS  The EU has now banned the supply of electric cars and hybrid cars, as well as some cars with internal combustion engines to Russia due to the next, 11th, package of economic sanctions against the Russian Federation. This was reported on June 23, Friday, by the portal of the European Commission.

According to the new restrictions, it is now impossible to import both new and used electric cars, hybrids and cars with an engine displacement of more than 1.9 liters from Europe to Russia.

On May 22, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Nikolay Zhuravlev told Izvestia that the reuse of parts is a good opportunity to reduce the cost of car insurance and repairs for citizens.

Earlier, the government instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Energy to work out the possibility of creating such an industry. The final decision on this initiative has not yet been made, it requires detailed consideration.
