OREANDA-NEWS In Moldova, an unknown philanthropist restored a monument to Vladimir Lenin damaged by vandals in the village of Bratushany. This was announced in his Telegram channel by the head of the search movement and the national organizing committee "Victory" Alexey Petrovich.

The incident with the monument was previously reported by the mayor of the city of Edintsy Konstantin Kozhokaru. According to him, unknown persons smashed the monument. The mayor expressed hope that CCTV cameras will help to find them.

"In the village of Bratushany of the Edinetsky district, a monument to V.I. Lenin destroyed by vandals a few weeks ago has been restored. The bust was restored by a patron who wished to remain anonymous," Petrovich said.

According to him, local residents believe that the restored monument looks even better than the old one.

Earlier, the Dnipro City Council refused to deprive the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Leonid Brezhnev of the title of honorary citizen of the city. The members of the council explained this by the fact that Brezhnev died in 1982, and the law on decommunization came into force only in 2015.
