OREANDA-NEWSThe NATO mission to evaluate Ukraine’s implementation of the annual national alliance membership preparation program arrived in Kiev. This was reported on Wednesday by the press service of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO. "A week hasn't passed since the visit of the NATO North Atlantic Council mission to Ukraine, and the delegation of the alliance, now at the expert level, is visiting Kiev again", the organization’s Facebook page said.

According to the press service, the participants of the assessment mission on November 6-8 will meet with representatives of almost all central executive bodies involved in the implementation of the Annual National Program under the auspices of the Ukraine-NATO Commission for 2019, which is the main tool for preparing Ukraine for membership in the alliance.

Based on the results of the visit, the assessment mission will prepare recommendations for a report on the implementation of this program, which will be submitted for consideration by NATO member states. The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, during a visit to Ukraine on October 31, said from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada that NATO’s doors remain open for the country, but the path to membership in the organization is not easy and requires significant reforms.
