OREANDA-NEWS  Russian citizens who are in the transit zone of the Ben-Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv have been provided with assistance and assistance, the reasons for the detention are being investigated, the Russian Embassy in Israel told RIA Novosti.

The Russian embassy said that on July 12 they received information about Russians stuck in the transit zone of Ben-Gurion International Airport. The media reported that Russian citizens could not pass border control, their passports were seized without explanation.

"An authorized diplomat was sent to them to clarify the circumstances and provide the necessary assistance. In coordination with the Israeli side and the leadership of the competent airport services, our citizens were given explanations on the essence of the issues of interest to them and the necessary humanitarian assistance was provided," the diplomatic mission said.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, in particular, one of the citizens who applied, accompanied by a representative of the airport and an embassy employee, received the medicines she needed from her luggage.
