OREANDA-NEWS The Ukrainian government has allocated almost 7.5 million dollars to the Ministry of Defense of the country to support the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including personnel training, the representative of the Government of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk said on Tuesday.

"275 million hryvnias (almost 7.5 million dollars) have been allocated to the Ministry of Defense ... on an irrevocable basis, these are development expenses for the implementation of the budget program "Ensuring the activities of the armed forces of Ukraine, training personnel and troops, medical support for personnel, veterans of military service and their families, war veterans," Melnichuk said in a statement., published in his Telegram channel.

Earlier, the country's Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said that Ukraine had allocated 100 percent of taxes collected from citizens and businesses for military needs. In addition to these expenses, according to the prime minister, there is also military aid from allies and donations from benefactors.

He also reported that the defense budget of Ukraine in 2023 will amount to 48.7 billion dollars.
