OREANDA-NEWS  Latvia stops accepting applications for all types of visas from Russian citizens from June 26, the Foreign Ministry of the Baltic Republic said on Monday.

Acting Foreign Minister and President-elect of Latvia Edgars Rinkevics on Saturday said that the country is strengthening border security with the Russian Federation, will not issue humanitarian and other visas to Russians against the background of the situation in Russia.

"Due to the unpredictable development of domestic political events in Russia, from June 26, 2023, applications for all types of visas from Russian citizens will be stopped at the diplomatic and consular missions of Latvia abroad," a statement on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says.
It is noted that applications accepted before June 25 will be considered.
