Depending on the number of points, the real pension may be either higher or lower than the subsistence minimum, Shvets explained.
However, according to the law, the pension amount cannot be less than this amount. In this case, if the accrued pension in 2024 turns out to be below 13,290 rubles, the pensioner will be paid extra from the regional or federal budget to the subsistence minimum established in the region of residence of the pensioner, the economist added.
Earlier, Vadim Vinogradov, Dean of the HSE Faculty of Law, said that in order to calculate an insurance pension in 2024, a minimum of 15 years of work experience and 28.2 points of the pension coefficient will be required. From 2025, the minimum number of pension coefficient points will increase to 30. The amount depends on the accrued and paid insurance premiums to the compulsory pension insurance system and the length of the insurance period, he explained.
