OREANDA-NEWS  The agreement on the temporary crossing of fire in the Gaza Strip will come into force at 7 a.m. (8:00 Moscow time) on Friday, November 24. It is assumed that the truce will last four days. 50 Israeli hostages and 150 Palestinian prisoners will be released.

Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid al-Ansari was the first to announce the agreement. According to the plan, the first batch of hostages captured by Palestinians in Israel on October 7 will be handed over to the Israeli authorities at 16:00 local time (17:00 Moscow time). 13 people will return home. Among them are women and children.

The Qatari diplomat recalled that a total of 50 hostages will be released. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) should provide assistance in the exchange. However, the organization has not yet officially confirmed this.

"We hope that this humanitarian truce will lead to the beginning of broader work to achieve a permanent truce and lasting peace. We expect both sides to comply with the terms of the agreement, and we view this very positively," the representative of Qatar stressed.


"Israel confirms receipt of the preliminary list of names. Officials are checking the details of the list and are in touch with the families of the hostages," reads a statement published by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Al-Qassam Brigades (the military wing of Hamas) they also confirmed the parameters of the agreement. The group drew attention to other important agreements. Among them: the release of three Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons for each hostage. That is, it is assumed that 150 Palestinian prisoners – women and minors - will be released.

The statement of the al-Qassam Brigades says that Israeli aviation flights are suspended for six hours a day (from 10:00 to 16:00) over the Gaza Strip for 4 days, 200 trucks with humanitarian aid and medicines, as well as four trucks with fuel, are allowed to enter all areas of the sector daily.
