OREANDA-NEWS. Vega, a national telecom operator, ended 2016 with positive momentum in all key performance indicators. In particular, EBITDA grew to UAH144.7 million, a 49% rise year on year.

The company's consolidated revenues exceeded the previous year's figure for the first time over five years, reaching UAH614.1 million in 2016. The operating profit soared three times to UAH43.5 million.

Last year, Vega increased its capital investment by 67% to UAH107.5 million. The company channelled the money to upgrade the equipment and develop its own network. In 2016, the operator built the first phase of its DWDM network and 70 new Internet zones based on FTTx and GEPON.

Also, Vega paid UAH114 million in taxes to different budgets.

"The company's good financial performance in 2016 comes primarily from our internal transformation and inflows of new corporate customers. Connection of new Internet users in newly built zones and promotion of innovative services such as interactive TV and IP telephony have also generated additional profit," Vega CEO Murat Cinar stated.
