OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced talks with Armenia and Azerbaijan. RIA Novosti writes about this.

The Minister expressed hope that negotiations with Yerevan and Baku are continuing. According to him, the Russian side proposed to start a trilateral dialogue through parliamentarians.

"The closest result at this stage seems to be reaching an agreement in a trilateral working group headed by three deputy prime ministers who are engaged in coordinating specific issues of unblocking transport communications in the region," he said.

Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev admitted that the conclusion of a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan could take place this year. According to him, Armenia "had to make a very important statement" on the recognition of the borders of Azerbaijan, including the territory of Karabakh and eight Azerbaijani enclaves on the territory of the republic.
