OREANDA-NEWS  Rospotrebnadzor has strengthened sanitary quarantine control over flights arriving from Egypt due to cases of an unknown disease in the province of Qena south of Cairo, the symptoms of which are similar to Dengue fever, the press service of the department told reporters.

"Rospotrebnadzor has strengthened sanitary and quarantine control over flights arriving from Egypt. The Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being informs that, according to the media and the Ministry of Health and Population of Egypt, cases of an unknown disease have been recorded in the province of Qena (600 kilometers south of Cairo). The symptoms of the disease are similar to dengue fever," the report says.

The ministry stressed that in connection with this situation, Rospotrebnadzor has strengthened sanitary and quarantine control over flights arriving from Egypt, including with the help of the automated information system "Perimeter". It is noted that Rospotrebnadzor interacts with the Egyptian side and international organizations to obtain additional information about the nature of the disease, the risks of its cross-border spread, preventive and anti-epidemic measures.
