OREANDA-NEWS Two drafts on the recognition of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) will be sent to the State Duma Council on Tuesday, February 15. The first — addressed to the president, the second - to the Foreign Ministry, to speed up the recognition procedure, RIA Novosti writes, citing a source in the committee of the lower house of Parliament for the CIS.

"Two resolutions will be submitted to the Council of the Duma tomorrow. One says about the direction to the president. The second is to send it to the Foreign Ministry for consultation in order to (coordinate) with the Minsk process," the agency quotes the interlocutor.

It is noted that representatives of United Russia introduced a second resolution that accelerates the recognition process, the sources noted and explained that the procedure provided for the document to pass through a number of instances, including the presidential administration, then the Foreign Ministry, then the paper is sent back to the AP, and after that to the president of the country. It was proposed to speed up this process and send the resolution immediately to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier, deputies of the lower house of the Russian Parliament from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation in the draft Duma appeal to the President of Russia asked Vladimir Putin to consider recognizing the self-proclaimed DNR and LNR as independent states. Another issue is the early holding of negotiations with the leadership of the republics in order to create a legal basis for interstate relations and to regulate all aspects of cooperation and mutual assistance.
