OREANDA-NEWS  The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury Department (OFAC) has blacklisted five companies and two citizens from Iran, China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Turkey. This is reported by the press service of the department.

Washington has imposed sanctions against companies and individuals for participating in the purchase of servomotors for the production of Iranian Shahed drones, which Russia allegedly uses in the special operation zone in Ukraine. The Iranian company Pishgam Electronic Safeh (PESC), Hong Kong-based Hongkong Himark Electron Model Limited, Turkish Dal Enerji and Anka Port, as well as Farhad Ghaed from the UAE were subject to restrictions. Their assets in the United States will be frozen, and local citizens and companies will be banned from doing business with them.

Since September 2022, OFAC has already imposed nine packages of sanctions against the Iranian drone manufacturer Shahed Aviation Industries (SAIRC). According to Brian E. Nelson, Deputy Minister of Finance for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, SAIRC drones have become a key tool of the Russian army to defeat the critical infrastructure of Ukraine.
