OREANDA-NEWS Relations between Russia and Venezuela represent a strong strategic alliance that is constantly expanding, the Foreign Ministry of the Latin American country believes.

The diplomatic department, against the background of the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to the country, published an article on the development of relations between the two countries, calling it "Venezuela and Russia, a strong, strategic, ever-growing alliance."

The Foreign Ministry notes that Lavrov is scheduled to meet with the Venezuelan leadership on Tuesday.

Earlier, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro supported the holding of an international conference on the situation in his country in Caracas on April 25. The conference will be held without the participation of President Maduro and representatives of the Venezuelan opposition, according to the website of the Venezolana de Television channel.
