OREANDA-NEWS The launch of the first demonstration satellite for the Internet of Things of the Marathon-IoT series, which is part of the Sphere project, was postponed for additional software checks. This was reported by the state corporation Roscosmos, Interfax reports.

They noted that after solving the tasks set, the satellite will be sent into orbit with a passing load. It was planned to launch it as a passing payload together with the Meteor-M hydrometeorological apparatus No. 2-4 at the end of February.

In October 2023, it became known that specialists from the Scientific Research Institute of Automation and Electromechanics of the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics had created an experimental sample of a smart battery for the first satellite of the Marathon-IoT grouping in five months.

In September, Reshetnev CEO Evgeny Nesterov announced that the organization plans to create 377 communication and navigation satellites in 2024-2030. The largest satellite grouping will be Marathon, which will receive 271 satellites.
