OREANDA-NEWS  American entrepreneur Elon Musk said on the social network X that the first person received a Neuralink implant and feels good.

"The first person received an implant from Neuralink yesterday and is recovering well (after surgery)," the businessman wrote.

According to Musk, the first data obtained on the operation of the device shows promising results.

Musk later wrote that the new Neuralink device is called Telepathy. According to him, it gives the owner the opportunity to control a smartphone or computer using the power of thought and is primarily created for people who have lost the ability to use their limbs.
"Imagine if Stephen Hawking could communicate faster than a typesetter or an auction host. That's the goal," Musk added.

In May last year, Neuralink received regulatory approval to conduct clinical trials in humans, and in September announced the recruitment of volunteers for clinical trials on implanting implants into the brain, with which, among other things, prostheses can be controlled. Musk stated that the company plans to create prostheses controlled by an implant implanted in the brain. According to the businessman, the cost of such a service can be about 60 thousand dollars.
