OREANDA-NEWS The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation will consider adding the brands of household appliances Tefal and Rowenta to the list of goods for parallel imports in case of supply interruptions, the ministry told RIA Novosti.

Earlier on Friday, the Kommersant newspaper reported, citing retailers, that manufacturers Electrolux, Tefal, Braun and Rowenta began signing moratoriums with partners in other countries on the re-export of electronics to Russia.

"Of the four mentioned brands, Tefal and Rowenta are not included in the parallel import mechanism. This means that in case of termination of supplies, the presence of positions of interested FOIVes (federal executive authorities - ed.) and the business community, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia will consider the issue of including brands in the appropriate list," the ministry said.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade also recalled that parallel import is the import of original goods put into circulation on the territory of another state without the permission of the copyright holder, that is, the copyright holder cannot influence the supply of its products, since it has already been put into circulation in another state.

At the same time, according to the ministry, it is clear from the dynamics of parallel imports that the mechanism is working successfully and copyright holders are unable to create obstacles to the supply of necessary products to the country.
