President: Ukraine increases the share of nuclear fuel supply from the U.S.
OREANDA-NEWS. With a view to reinforce its energy security, Ukraine will increase the share of nuclear fuel supply from the United States, as stated by President Petro Poroshenko in the interview to the Ukrainian TV channels.
«Energy security also depends on nuclear energy. And we substantially increase the share of American nuclear fuel suppliers «Westinghouse» in Ukraine. I told that two weeks ago and I am hopeful that we will manage to increase it up to 55%,» the Head of State stressed.
«Besides, we are building the nuclear fuel reprocessing plant,» the President added.
According to the President, there is an agreement to supply the American coal to Ukraine. «We will have a guaranteed supply of at least two million tons of coal. We have created all conditions for that,» he noted. Petro Poroshenko added that the coal from Pennsylvania would be supplied at competitive prices.
