OREANDA-NEWS The United States informed Russia and Iran of specific terrorist targets before the attack at Crocus City Hall, and Moscow took measures to investigate the threat. This is reported by The New York Times (NYT) newspaper, citing officials.

It is noted that the United States is intensively working to collect intelligence on potential attacks by the Islamic State (IS, ISIL, recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia and banned) and its branch in Afghanistan called Wilayat Khorasan (ISIL-X, banned in Russia).

Upon learning about the preparation of the attacks, Washington warned Moscow and Tehran about the specific goals of the terrorists. Some Western officials said that Russia had paid attention to the warning issued by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) station in Moscow and had taken steps to investigate the threat.
