OREANDA-NEWS After the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine and the strengthening of Western sanctions pressure against Russia, Europe is directly faced with an energy crisis. It cost the EU countries almost a trillion euros, said Vice-President of the European Commission Maros Sefcovic, according to Prime.

He added that the crisis has also affected the competitiveness of European companies and the well-being of European households. Shefrovich noted that this time was a difficult test for the countries, as the authorities of the states had to pay considerable sums for the import of resources – fuel and gas.

The speaker also stated the need to reduce gas and fuel prices in order to become competitive.
