OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian delegation was invited to France to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the landing of the Allies of the anti-Hitler coalition in Normandy on June 6, 1944. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a source in the Mission Liberation company, which organizes the event.

"Nevertheless, Russia has been invited and will be represented in order to honor the importance of the participation and sacrifices of the Soviet people, as well as their contribution to the victory of 1945," the source said.

Mission Liberation stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin was not invited to the ceremony "taking into account the circumstances."
