OREANDA-NEWS  By the end of 2023, Rosselkhoznadzor employees identified a total of 2,266 phantom enterprises in Russia. The growth in the number of non-existent manufacturing and trading companies in the country is reported by TASS with reference to the statistical data of the department.

In 12 months, the number of identified phantom enterprises has increased by eight percent, the Rosselkhoznadzor clarified. For comparison, in 2022, the department's employees identified 2,091 similar organizations. At the same time, in 2021 and 2020, the number of such cases was significantly higher — 3,041 and 2,802, respectively. At the same time, only 284 phantom enterprises were identified in 2019.

The Rosselkhoznadzor also added that in 2023, more than 269 thousand cases of goods movement were detected. They were used for various purposes, including the legalization of unknown raw materials and products, the extension of the shelf life of goods, the introduction of counterfeit or expired products into circulation.

Earlier, the Izvestia newspaper reported on the intention of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance and Rosstandart to tighten quality control over products manufactured in Russia. To do this, the departments wanted to oblige domestic enterprises to send for examination the standards and technical specifications (TU) according to which they manufacture their goods. At the same time, the authorities proposed to take the production of food products under special control.
