OREANDA-NEWS. In celebration of the inauguration of the Fourteenth President and Vice President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), the Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) will issue a commemorative gold coin and a commemorative silver coin on May 20, 2016. Each commemorative gold coin will be sold for NT$48,000 and the silver coin NT$1,600.

The Bank has delegated the Bank of Taiwan to sell the 10,000 gold coins and 50,000 silver coins to the public on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to one gold coin and / or one silver coin each per purchaser at a time.

The two commemorative coins are legal tender. The gold coin contains one ounce of gold and is engraved with a face value of NT$2,000, while the silver coin contains one ounce of silver and is engraved with a face value of NT$200. The obverse on both coins features the engraved portraits of the Fourteenth President Ms. Tsai Ing-wen and Vice President Mr. Chen Chien-jen. The reverse shows the insignia of the Office of the President.
