OREANDA-NEWS. Sberbank, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the city of Naberezhnye Chelny have entered into a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by Ildar Khalikov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Nagil Magdeyev, mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny, and Maxim Poletaev, First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank.

The parties will cooperate on developing projects and programmes for the residents of territories of priority social and economic development (TPSEDs) in Naberezhnye Chelny. This project was given the green light by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan in January this year. The key objectives of TPSEDs are to attract investment (including from foreign companies), support the most promising business projects, encourage the development of entrepreneurship, and create new jobs. Residents will be offered optimal conditions for building their business, including tax rebates, subsidiaries, etc.

Under the agreement, Sberbank plans to develop specialised product offers for residents of TPSEDs that take into account their areas of activity, will inform them about lending opportunities, and provide the conditions necessary for implementation of an effective cash-free payment system.

«Naberezhnye Chelny is the second largest city in the republic and has impressive potential for socio-economic development. The experience of creating TPSEDs is very interesting, and that is why Sberbank was one of the first to offer its support for the project,» commented Maxim Poletaev.

Active work has already begun with TPSEDs: Sberbank has completed a payroll project and is carrying out transaction support (including for foreign economic activity) for the first resident — Hayer. The bank is also reviewing five loan applications from potential residents to a total of 4.8 bln roubles.

Sberbank provided 15.5 bln roubles of financing to small, medium and large businesses in Naberezhnye Chelny in 2015.
