OREANDA-NEWS. Sun Life Financial announced today that it is launching a new business area called Digital Health Solutions to help Canadians access the latest in digital capabilities and innovations to take care of their health and well-being.

As a leading provider of health benefits in Canada, Sun Life supports the health care needs of Canadians with more than 75 million claims paid and more than 50 million health touchpoints per year. With the launch of Digital Health Solutions, Sun Life will invest in new partnerships and capabilities to provide innovative solutions for Canadians in the digital health space.

Digital Health Solutions will bring Sun Life's own leading digital and health capabilities together with those of leading players from across the health care spectrum to help Canadians to:

  • Find new and better ways of accessing health care products and services empowering them along the way
  • Act by making healthy choices to support wellness goals
  • Better manage chronic conditions with advanced technologies and insights

This new business area will be led by Chris Denys, Senior Vice-President of Possibilities, Digital Health Solutions, Sun Life Financial Canada. Chris was most recently the Chief Financial Officer for Sun Life in Canada after holding a number of senior executive roles leading high performance teams. Chris has a passionate interest in health and has served as Sun Life's executive sponsor of the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes for the last three years.

Digital Health Solutions will leverage the innovative capabilities of Digital Benefits Assistant, the first real-time decision management technology in the insurance industry, to proactively engage Canadians and empower them to take a more active role in managing their health and well-being.
