OREANDA-NEWS. S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'AA-' long-term rating to the Mississippi Development Bank's series 2016A special obligation bonds and its 'A+' long-term rating to the bank's series 2016B special obligation bonds. All bonds were issued on behalf of the City of Brandon. The outlook is stable.

Bond proceeds will fund improvements to the city's recreational facilities and the construction of an amphitheater.

"The 'AA-' rating reflects our view of such factors as the city's strong economy, strong budgetary performance, very strong budgetary flexibility, and very strong liquidity," said S&P Global Ratings credit analyst Karolina Norris.

The stable outlook reflects our opinion that we will not change the rating over the two-year outlook period.
