OREANDA-NEWS. S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'A+' long-term rating to Baudette, Minn.'s series 2016A general obligation (GO) bonds. The outlook is stable.

"The long-term rating reflects our assessment of the city's very strong budgetary flexibility and liquidity," said S&P Global Ratings credit analyst Taylor Budrow. "The rating further reflects our view of the city's strong budgetary performance and adequate management practices," Mr. Budrow added.

Bond proceeds for the 2016A series will be used to finance various street and utility improvements and to refund the city's series 2002 GO disposal system bonds.

Baudette is located in northern Minnesota along the Canadian border. The city lies 85 miles north of Bemidji in Lake of the Woods County, serving as the county seat. The city benefits from its agricultural economy and year-round tourism as a result of its outstanding fishing.
