OREANDA-NEWS. The European Investment Bank (EIB) and ANAC have finalised an agreement aimed at combating corruption through mutual collaboration in terms of exchanging information and technical and operating assistance on the methods for preventing, identifying and combating cases of corruption and associated crimes. Both institutions consider exchanging information to be one of the most effective means of preventing and combating fraud and corruption-related phenomena. Today's agreement gives both institutions access to even more effective means to pursue their own objectives.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed yesterday in Rome by ANAC Chairman Raffaele Cantone and EIB Vice-President Dario Scannapieco represents another important step for ANAC in the fight against corruption.

The fight against corruption needs greater international cooperation more than ever. Building a strong partnership throughout Europe is a key step in facing this difficult task”, said ANAC Chairman Mr Cantone. “Exchanging information is a vital way of ensuring that the goals of the Agreement are furthered in an optimal fashion, and I am particularly pleased that the aspects relating to the exchange of information are thus included in this Memorandum”.
