OREANDA-NEWS. S&P Global Ratings raised its long-term rating to 'A' from 'A-' on Glendale Industrial Development Authority, Ariz.'s series, 2007, and 2010 bonds issued for Midwestern University (MWU). The outlook is stable.

"We raised the rating based on our "Not-for-Profit Public and Private Colleges and Universities methodology", published on Jan. 6, 2016, on RatingsDirect," said S&P Global Ratings credit analyst Jessica Matsumori. "The rating further reflects our view of the university's strong enterprise profile and very strong financial profile," Ms. Matsumori added.

Market position and demand MWU is an independent health sciences institution of higher education, with campuses in Downers Grove, Ill., a western suburb of Chicago, and Glendale, Ariz., located in the Phoenix area. The Arizona campus opened in 1996. MWU was founded in 1900 and now operates colleges of osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary medicine, health science, and optometry.
