OREANDA-NEWS. The utilisation of local fuels in Belarus is unsatisfactory, Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky said at today’s session of the Council of Ministers Presidium. According to the government's official website, the session was dedicated to considering the progress in fulfilling the targeted GDP energy intensity decrease, the targeted increase in the utilisation of locally available fuels and secondary energy resources in H1 2007, as well as organisational efforts in view of requirements outlined by Directive No. 3. The session was chaired by Belarus' Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky.
 
The amount of money spent on energy-saving measures in Belarus needs to be increased up to $1.5 billion per annum, Director of the Energy Effectiveness Department of the State Standardization Committee Lev Dubovik also emphasized while the meeting.
