OREANDA-NEWS. The Chinese company ByteDance is considering selling a majority stake in its TikTok social network in the light of suspicions by US authorities that it might collect information about Americans. This was reported on Monday by Bloomberg.

According to his sources, ByteDance is considering various options for action. Among them, an appeal to lawyers who could try to protect the social network from possible restrictions on the part of American regulators, as well as the sale of a majority stake in TikTok to foreign partners. The value of these assets exceeds $ 10 billion, the agency said.

The publication emphasizes that ByteDance management would prefer to maintain control over TikTok, as the popularity of the social network is growing rapidly. At the moment, the company hasn't made a final decision yet. As stated in the material, TikTok officials denied allegations of the possibility of selling the ByteDance-owned stake.
