OREANDA-NEWS Gazprom topped the rating of the 100 largest companies in Russia by net profit according to the Russian financial and economic publication Forbes, the company, as indicated, earned 1.3 trillion rubles.

The top three also included Yamal LNG with a profit of 840 billion rubles and Rosneft with a profit of 813 billion rubles.

In the top ten are Lukoil (790.1 billion rubles), Novatek (640.4 billion rubles), Norilsk Nickel (429.3 billion rubles), Tatneft (284.9 billion rubles), Sakhalin Energy (283.9 billion rubles), Sberbank (270.5 billion rubles) andPhosagro" (184.7 billion rubles).

The financial and Economic publication included in the list of operating companies registered in Russia, as well as legal entities registered in other jurisdictions, if Russian shareholders own 25% or more of the shares, and business assets are largely connected with Russia. In addition, Forbes does not include investment funds and holdings in this rating, such as Interros, Sistema or Rostec, as well as shareholder companies that are intermediate between operational holdings and their beneficiaries.

It is noted that the companies are lined up by net profit in 2022.

"Net profit is indicated in rubles, profit in other currencies is converted into rubles at average rates for the corresponding time periods of the 2022 fiscal year. Only financial or accounting statements published by companies, as well as data from the Federal Tax Service of Russia and Rosstat presented in the SPARK system were considered as data sources," the publication explains.
