OREANDA-NEWS In March of this year, Russian banks issued loans to citizens for 1.34 trillion rubles, which is 35 percent more in monthly terms. The fact that the Russians rushed to collect loans, reports Frank RG.

At the same time, compared to the same month of 2022, the volume of loans issued increased by 109 percent — all segments of lending showed an increase. This difference is due to a sharp drop in the retail lending segment last year against the background of the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine.

The largest growth in March was shown by the segment of unsecured cash loans. Such loans were issued for a total of 631.5 billion rubles, which is almost 39 percent more than in February, and 670 percent more than a year ago. The segment also showed growth in quantitative terms — by 33 percent compared to February and by 510 percent compared to March 2022. At the same time, the average loan size increased by only four percent on a monthly basis, amounting to 210 thousand rubles.
