OREANDA-NEWS  Mir cards will stop working in Kyrgyzstan from April 5 due to US-imposed sanctions. This was announced by the operator of the national payment system "Elkart".

"The department of the US Treasury responsible for the control of foreign assets has imposed sanctions against JSC National Payment Card System (JSC NSPK), the operator of the Mir payment system cards. In order to minimize the risk of secondary sanctions, CJSC Interbank Processing Center (CJSC MPC) as a guarantor of the smooth operation of the national payment system, Elkart informs about the termination of service of Mir bank cards in its infrastructure from April 5, 2024," the message on the operator's website says.
