OREANDA-NEWSSberbank is launching a new system of payment services, SberPay, which allows you to pay for purchases online and in regular stores, to use it you need a mobile application of the Bank, the largest Russian Bank said in a statement.

"SberPay allows you to pay for purchases both online on websites and in the app, and offline in retail outlets equipped with POS-terminals that accept contactless payment. To do this, it is enough to have a mobile application "Sberbank Online", — said in the message.

It is noted that if a customer pays for purchases online via SberPay, they no longer need to spend time entering card data and waiting for confirmation by SMS. As a result, you should no longer be afraid of personal data theft. You can choose any of the available cards for payment, and the card balance is visible immediately.

At the same time, one of the advantages of paying for purchases in regular stores through the new service will be that you do not need to install additional applications in your smartphone — Sberbank Online already has everything. The service is free for private customers, and for businesses, the rates for using the online payment service SberPay are similar to the usual acquiring rates and depend, among other things, on the scope and volume of business.

The offline payment service is available to owners of any NFC-enabled Android smartphones. At the first stage, Visa cards are available for offline payment, and cards from other payment systems will be added in the near future. At the same time, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Bank Svetlana Kirsanova later told reporters that the Bank came up with a technology that "does not sit on the technological rails of GooglePay or ApplePay".

"The main thing that all our actions are built around is the daily tasks and interests of each client. Therefore, any of our services should be simple, so that you do not need to understand complex instructions, convenient and cause pleasant emotions, and most importantly — safe. Russia is already one of the leading countries in contactless payments, and I am sure that SberPay will help strengthen these positions, " says German Gref, head of Sberbank.
