OREANDA-NEWS  Customs officers at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport seized 158 expensive jewelry from a passenger flying from Turkey. This is written in the Telegram channel of the Federal Customs Service (FCS).

It is reported that the woman, whose name and surname are not disclosed, tried to smuggle undeclared jewelry into the country. Customs officers found earrings, bracelets, rings and necklaces hidden in soda cans, perfume boxes and personal belongings. At the same time, the mentioned items were previously wrapped in foil.

According to the examination, the total cost of jewelry made of 925 sterling silver is 1.2 million rubles. It is noted that the violator faces from 3 to 7 years in prison, as well as a fine of up to 1 million rubles.

Earlier in September, a Russian tried to illegally import a watch for millions of rubles into the country and got caught. A 63-year-old man was stopped during the passage of the "green" corridor and found a jewel. The Russian provided an accessory of the luxury brand Rolex for customs inspection at Domodedovo airport.
